Late rally can’t save the Eagles; Jackson & Ravens win 30-28.

The Eagles vs Ravens game couldn’t have started worse for the Eagles. Lamar Jackson ran all over the Eagles defense, the Eagles make-shift offensive line could not protect Carson Wentz, and more injuries began to stack up on the offensive side of the ball.
The Eagles missed several opportunities and were down 17-0 heading into halftime. Much like last week against the Steelers, the Eagles continued to fight and clawed their way back into the game. Wentz led the team to two touchdowns in a 2-minute stretch in the 4th quarter. Down 30-14 with 3:48 to play, the Wentz-Fulgham connection paid off yet again and Travis Fulgham scored his 3rd touchdown in as many games.
The Eagles defense forced a 3-and-out and gave the offense another shot to tighten the Ravens lead. Wentz took the birds on a 4-play, 71-yard drive and topped it off with a QB sneak to put the birds within 2 points with 2 minutes left in the game.
I still can’t figure out why we tried to run the ball on the 2-point conversion. Wentz attempted to run the ball but failed and the Eagles gave the ball back to the Ravens, who managed to run the clock out with a 21-yard run by Lamar Jackson.
This game was ugly.
Injuries continue and continue to pile up for Philadelphia. K’Von Wallace, Jack Driscoll, Miles Sanders, and Zach Ertz all went down in the loss. Carson Wentz, despite all of the criticism, is an absolute soldier. Late in the game, the only remaining starter besides Wentz was Jason Kelce. He had his 4th-6th string Wide Receivers, his 3rd string Tight End, and 3rd and 4th string Linemen protecting him. Say what you want about Wentz but the fact he still had a shot to win with these players on the field is incredible.
Travis Fulgham continues to prove that he is a starting WR in the NFL. Fulgham came up huge in the 4th quarter for the Eagles. Eagles offensive line Jamon Brown was really bad. If he was a rookie I would give him the benefit of the doubt but this is a former starter in the NFL for more than one team. Brown was solely responsible countless hurries on Carson Wentz and for 4 of the Ravens 5 sacks
Speaking of Pathetic performances, Zach Ertz continued to show crickets this week. Missing several catches, Ertz only compiled 33 yards. That brings him to 178 yards on the season before he exited in the 4th with an ankle injury. Richard Rodgers was in the game ⅓ of the amount as Ertz and managed to show it wasn’t a scheming issue. Ertz is really just that bad.
Miles Sanders went down with a knee injury and will get an MRI tomorrow alongside Ertz but it is expected to not be season-ending but the exact severity is currently unknown.
Going into Week 7 the Eagles are 1-4-1 and still have a shot at the division. They have a quick turnaround playing the Giants on Thursday Night Football.
