Claude Giroux will be chasing 5 Franchise Records in 2021

Flyers captain Claude Giroux remains on the brink of making franchise history in multiple categories. Here are the five all-time stats that are in reach for Giroux in 2021.

900 Games

Giroux currently at 889 which means he is 11 games away from becoming only the 3rd player in Flyers franchise history to play 900 games.

1. Bobbly Clarke: 1,144 Regular Season Games
2. Bill Barber: 903 Regular Season Games
3. Claude Giroux: 889 Regular Season Games

600 Assist Club

Giroux is currently second in franchise history with 558 assists. Again, he’s chasing Bobby Clarke’s franchise record of 852 assists. He’s a long ways away but much closer to hit the 600 mark for his regular season career if he can net 42 assists in 20201.

9th in Goals

With 21 goals in 2020, Giroux is sitting at 257 goals. He moved past Flyers legends such as Rod Brind’Amour, March Rechhi, and Rick Tocchet into 10th place in all-time team history. Giroux is currently tied with Simon Gagne for 9th overall and will need one goal to take sole possession of 9th place in Flyers history.

1st in Power Play Points

Giroux will enter next season with 318 power play points. He has 80 power play goals and 238 power play assists. He’s already ranks 2nd in team history and needs 17 power play points this season to tie Bobby Clarke for most in franchise history; 18 to own the all-time mark.

3rd/2nd in Points

Giroux also enters the 2020-21 campaign with a chance to catch Brian Propp and Bill Barber in the all-time points record. Giroux needs 34 points to catch Propp, and 68 points to catch Bill Barber. Both are extremely possible to catch for the Flyers captain.
