Eagles fans should feel no animosity towards Nelson Agholor

Over the last few weeks, a former Eagle has been in the national spotlight for his impressive play on a team not named the Eagles. Nelson Agholor has been having quite the comeback season with the Las Vegas Raiders. With 5 touchdowns already in the season, he’s on pace for a career year. With that, many have obviously criticized Philadelphia for letting him go.
This shouldn’t be the case. Agholor’s raw talent was never the issue. His inconsistent play and inability to catch the ball hindered his growth and likeness in Philadelphia.
Do people forget the anomaly that Agholor was? His career in Philadelphia was a rollercoaster. Agholor deserved the chance to start over outside of Philadelphia and Eagles fans should be happy with the decision and want to see him excel elsewhere.
2019 was a disaster for Agholor in Philly. His seven dropped passes in 2017 and 2019 were a major concern and definitely made him an outcast when the Eagles hit free agency.
Point being, the Eagles and Agholor should be looked at as a mutual break-up. It was time to part ways with Nelly and give him the opportunity to have a fresh start. There should be no animosity towards him from Eagles fans.
The speed and athleticism have always been there but they don’t do much when the ball always slips through your hands. So while many have a meltdown we let him and even Mack Hollins (who just had his first catch and touchdown since joining Miami last week) go, just realize it wasn’t meant to be and Jalen Reagor and Travis Fulgham are here.
Congratulations to Nelly. Thanks for your Super Bowl contributions. We’re done here.
