All-Star Travis Konecny Crucial to Flyers Success

Well aware that Travis Konecny struggled offensively during playoffs last season but for this post let’s just focus on what TK was able to do well all season long for the Flyers. He was a huge reason why the Flyers were able to find their groove and go on a run to make it to the playoffs.
TK led the team in goals (24) and points (61) through 66 regular season games. He was one assist away (37 total) from a new career high.
The 23-year-old led the team in goals (24) and points (61) through 66 regular-season games, while his 37 assists were a career high and he was one marker away from a new career high.
Konecny signed a 6-year $33 million dollar deal at the start of training camp and much like Kevin Hayes, he proved that he was worth every penny. He put up six 3-point performances last season. He literally had a total of two over his first three NHL seasons.
The progression is there.
Travis Konecny had more points than NHL stars John Tavares, Mathew Barzal, Johnny Gaudreau, Patrice Bergeron, Tyler Seguin, Nikolaj Ehlers and Jonathan Toews.
Since 2017-18 Travis Konecny has more even-strength goals (62) than:
- Patrik Laine: 59
- Jonathan Toews: 59
- Jonathan Huberdeau: 57
- Jamie Benn: 56
- Steven Stamkos: 55
- Mike Hoffman: 51
- Joe Pavelski: 48
- Tyler Toffoli: 47
- Mitchell Marner: 46
- Phil Kessel: 42
Pretty remarkable for TK. The Flyers will need him to continue his progression in 2021, both during the regular season and the playoffs.
