76ers waive Marial Shayok and Norvel Pelle ahead of free agency

Last night the 76ers parted ways with backup center Norvel Pelle. Pelle was a late addition to the main roster last season and excelled at his rim protection. Today the 76ers moved on from another Delaware prospect in guard Marial Shayok.
Shayok was on a 2-way contract and looked to have a lot of promise. With the recent influx of guards it was likely that Marial would be the odd man out for the Sixers. During his time in Delaware he excelled, averaging almost 22.5 PPG.
Norvel Pelle averaged 1.3 blocks per game in only 9 mins in his 24 appearances with the 76ers. These 2 being waived will save a few million in cap space. This also brings the current roster to 14 players with free agency still ahead.
Right now the 76ers have $5.7 million to work with in the taxpayers mid-level exception in free agency, starting tonight.
