Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons Listed as Probable vs Heat

The shorthanded 76ers will host the 4-4 Miami Heat tonight in South Philadelphia. The Sixers are on the second half of a back-to-back after losing to the Atlanta Hawks last night. Much like Saturday vs the Nuggest, the Sixers were able to keep it close in the first half vs the Hawks with Embiid scoring 24 points and grabbing 11 rebounds leading the way. In the end, every Hawks starter scored in double-digits and the Hawks dominated the fast-break for an easy win.
Seth Curry, Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, Shake Milton, and Vincent Poirier all remain out due to league health and safety protocols. Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons are both probable. The Heat are without eight of their top players: Jimmy Butler, Goran Dragic, Kendrick Nunn, Bam Adebayo, Moe Harkless, Udonis Haslem, and KZ Okpala. These players come as an addition to Avery Bradley as he was already in the protocol.
In his second start of his very young career, Tyrese Maxey scored 15 points while pulling in six rebounds, four assists and two steals. The rookie continued to impress after scoring a historic 39 points Saturday against Denver. Isaiah Joe led the bench unit vs the Hawks scoring a career-high 18 points including four threes. It was a great bounce-back performance from Joe, who struggled vs the Nuggets over the weekend.
Everyone is unhappy that the Sixers continue to play games while other teams are granted postponements. I’m right there with you. Unfortunately, we have to keep moving and win some of these games, even more so when the opposing team is in the same situation as the Sixers. Assuming Embiid and Simmons are both playing, this is a game the Sixers must win against a Miami Heat skeleton crew.
