Sixers Beat Celtics on the Back of Another Dominant Performance by Embiid

The 76ers got back on track tonight in a win against the rival Celtics. In the 117-109 victory, Joel Embiid led the charge with 41 points, with help from Tobias Harris and Shake Milton. The Sixers move to 10-5 on the season and slide into 1st Place in the Eastern Conference.
EMVPIID
Joel put on another fantastic performance against Boston, and was essential to the win in tonight’s game. In 33 minutes, Embiid put up 42 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block. With his fingerprints all over this match, he found refuge at the free throw line, shooting 17-21 from the stripe and was able to keep his minutes down. We know that Joel has been the best center in the league. He cannot be stopped in the paint this year and tonight was just affirmation.
Impact Players
When Embiid went to the bench in this game, the team was in good hands with Harris and Milton. Tobias (22) and Shake (16) provided a necessary boost to the scoring when Embiid left the game. Tobias has been impressive as of late, and his performance in the 4th quarter of tonight’s game should give fans plenty to be excited about. To nobody’s surprise, Shake had another productive night, and shot 100% from deep.
With less of an impact in the scoring department, Simmons and Green both added great defense down the stretch. When Simmons left the game in foul trouble, Danny Green stepped up to guard Jaylen Brown, and Green was still able to score 12 points and drill 4 of 8 from beyond the arc. Simmons was slightly frustrating in the win, but that didn’t stop him from being a huge part of the victory. Ben fought through foul trouble and collected 11 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals.
Shoutout Furkan for the Dunk of the Year.
Without Tatum, the Celtics looked for scoring and found it in Marcus Smart (25), Jaylen Brown (26), and per usual Daniel Theis (23). Both teams are back in action for a rematch on Friday Night.
