The Biggest Problem with the Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are a mess right now. I don’t even know where to start. When I’m done typing this, the Eagles will probably have traded their franchise quarterback Carson Wentz. It’s absolutely mind boggling to even comprehend but as trading Wentz becomes more likely, there’s one person that shoulders the majority of the blame.
- Doug Pederson? No.
- Carson Wentz? No.
- Jim Schwartz? No.
Now keep in mind, all guys that I just mentioned certainly contributed towards this mess. But, the biggest issue in this franchise, starts at the very top with Jeffery Lurie and Howie Roseman.
Jeffery Lurie and Howie Roseman should take all the blame. Somehow, someway, both guys remained in the franchise after firing Andy Reid and Doug Pederson. I shouldn’t even have to mention all the horrible draft mistakes both guys have made. These two are on the verge of trading Carson Wentz. Which if we’re being totally honest, may be the right decision for both sides.
The fact we even got to this point, however, is an absolute joke. Wentz will most likely be an MVP candidate where ever he goes, it’s evident in the reports coming out that the Eagles could receive first round draft picks in return for Wentz. But still, a large portion of the Eagles fanbase will tell you he’s cooked after a down year that was already a mess due to the pandemic.
Lurie and Roseman are both to blame. The duo have done absolutely nothing to benefit their franchise quarterback over the last couple years. Howie keeps handing out large contracts to old, injury riddled players. This in turn, left the Eagles handicapped throughout their offensive depth chart. The franchise was unable to afford any legit help for their quarterbacks. (Notice how I said quarterbacks. I didn’t just say Wentz.)
Maybe Jalen Hurts is the right quarterback for the Eagles. Even if, Howie Roseman will find a way to mess it up. His best buddy Jeff Lurie can see no wrong in his eyes. He probably thinks Roseman is a genius. I hope this article comes back to bite me. But I doubt it will.
The NFL is all about having a great QB, coach, and GM. Well, the Eagles already fired another elite head coach, as well as on the verge of trading a once MVP candidate; Carson Wentz. In reality, all they had to do was fire their terrible GM. But they didn’t. The issue remains up top. Mr. Lurie and Howie Roseman. It’s only a matter of time till Lurie and Roseman select another scapegoat for their mistakes.
