Eagles hire Jemal Singleton to replace Duce Staley as RBs coach

The Eagles are putting the final touches on their coaching staff today, hiring Jemal Singleton as their new running backs coach. Singleton will replace longtime coach Duce Staley and also hold Staley’s other title as assistant head coach. Most recently, Jemal was the running backs coach at Kentucky.
Earlier in his coaching career, Singleton was an NFL running backs coach for three different teams. Frank Gore rushed for nearly 2,000 yards during Singleton’s two seasons in Indianapolis from 2016 to 2017. Following that, he coached in both Oakland and Cincinnati before returning to college with Kentucky. Alongside coaching the running backs, the 45-year-old was also the Wildcat’s special teams coordinator.
Singleton’s hire is the last of the position coaches for the Eagles. Nick Sirianni now has fully put together his offensive staff for the 2021 season. Former running backs coach Duce Staley is now with the Detroit Lions under the same role after almost a decade with the Eagles.
