Former Eagles backup QB Nate Sudfeld signs with 49ers

Former Eagles quarterback Nate Sudfeld is heading west. According to reports, the San Francisco 49ers signed Sudfeld to a one-year contract, ending his tenure in Philadelphia. Sudfeld was drafted originally by the Washington Football Team back in 2016 before signing with the Eagles practice squad in 2017.
During his time with the Eagles, Nate primarily served as a sideline helper for Carson Wentz and never saw much playing time. The 27-year-old appeared in just four games over his four-year tenure with the Eagles.
Following the signing of veteran Joe Flacco and Wentz’s departure, it didn’t seem likely that Sudfeld would be returning to the Eagles. His contract’s exact details are currently unknown, but the Eagles have just a bit over $2 million remaining following their recent free agency signing of linebacker Eric Wilson.
