Wade Allison scores, Flyers lose 6-3 to Capitals

Carter Hart was scratched before his scheduled start against the Washington Capitals yesterday and the Flyers struggles against the Caps continued with a 6-3 loss yesterday at home. The Flyers dropped to 20-18-6 on the season and 1-5 against the Capitals. They have allowed the Caps to torch them for 4.83 goals per game, a huge difference from last year when the Flyers went 4-0-1 against the Caps and let up only eight goals total.
Doomsday is on the horizon for the 2021 season as they Flyers are in sixth place and eight points out of a playoff spot with 12 games remaining.
Ovechkin continued his dominance over the Flyers. He had a three-point game, Evgeny Kuznetsov recorded a goal and two assists, while John Carlson finished with four helpers.
One bright spot for the Flyers would be Wade Allison, who scored his first goal of his NHL career yesterday. He finished a beautiful passing play thanks to Claude Giroux and Kevin Hayes and brought the Flyers within one goal on the power play in the third period.
The 23-year old has impressed in his short time on the Flyers. JVR and Provorov scored the other goals for the Flyers. The boys are back this evening as they host the Islanders at 6:30pm.
