Egor Zamula Makes His NHL Debut Tomorrow Night

Once we saw some rumblings of Egor Zamula practicing on a pair with Travis Sanheim, we knew this moment could be arriving very shortly. Tomorrow night against the Devils Zamula will slot in next to Sanheim and finally make his long awaited NHL debut.
The undrafted Russian defenseman has done nothing but make large strides and improve his stock in the pipeline since being signed in 2018. This move makes complete sense with the direction the Flyers seem to be trending to close this season out; which is funnel in young talent and take away any positives from this year that you can. One can only wonder if/when a York NHL debut could be on the horizon.
None the less this is an exciting move and at the very least gives us a reason to tune in to this ghost of a team. Zamula’s statistics this year in the AHL were: 17 Games Played, 0 goals, 5 assists, 6 PIMS. Alain Vigneault said he’s liked his play down there as of late.
I am really interested and am going to be keeping an eye on this Zamula-Sanheim pairing. If it works, and it just might, I believe that is a true positive that you can take into this offseason and potentially build upon next training camp and so on. The Philadelphia Flyers may suck but at least they are trying to infuse some young talent into this lineup and it will make this last stretch much more enjoyable.
Let’s get York in there next.
