Phillies’ Injury News, Updates, and Alvarado’s Suspension

Reports today indicate that Bryce Harper will be out tonight due to a sore wrist. Harper, who missed last Friday’s game with the same sore wrist, has clearly been bothered by the injury. We can only hope it won’t land him on the injury list for an extended period of time.
José Alvarado and the MLB have agreed to a two-game suspension for what happened the other night against the Mets. That suspension will begin tonight, which actually works out well for the Phillies given his usage over the weekend.
Jean Segura and Ronald Torreyes will begin their rehab assignments this week which means Joe Girardi will have to make a decision on what to do with rookie Nick Maton. Hint: The Answer is Centerfield.
Up Next: The Phillies are now in third place in the NL East, a game behind the Mets and Nats atop of the standings. They will host the Brewers for a four game set starting tonight at 7:05PM. Vince Velasquez will get the start against Brewers right-hander Adrian Houser.
