76ers Clinch Top Seed in the Eastern Conference with Win over Magic

The Philadelphia 76ers have clinched the number one seed in the Eastern Conference for the first time in 20 years. In a 122-97 win against the Orlando Magic the 76ers officially claim the top seed in the East with one game to left in the regular season. It was a wire-to-wire victory for the Sixers as they scored in abundance with six players scoring in double figures.
Seth Curry led the Sixers with 20 points, and the balanced offensive attack was clearly too much for the injury ridden Magic. Philadelphia improves to 48-23 on the season, with one last regular season game at home against Orlando on Sunday. For all intents and purposes, this game was a necessary feat for the Sixers, and clinching the top spot not only eases their minds, as a great accomplishment, but it creates a valuable advantage for Philadelphia going into this postseason.
Ben Simmons turned himself back up tonight with an impressive all around game. Watching Simmons get back on track always seems to start with him getting out on the break, which he did extremely well tonight and it led to 13 points, and 9 assists. Seth Curry was tonight’s leading scorer with 20 points and the chemistry building between him and Ben has been an incredibly fun evolution this season.
Joel Embiid had another quiet night, only scoring 13 points and snagging 11 rebounds. It seems like Joel has basically checked out of the regular season and is looking forward to the playoffs, and I have no doubt that his game will be back on point come postseason.
The Sixers have played like a team that is ready to wrap up the regular season, and with the victory tonight I expect the starters to get the night off next game. Look forward to a heavy dose of the reserves on Sunday. Finally, everyone on Sixers twitter can relax, and after all the drama the Sixers end up at the top of the east for the first time since 2000-01.
Trust the Process.
