Pennsylvania sets hard date to lift mask mandate

Pennsylvania health officials on Thursday stated that they will fully repeal its mask mandate in a month. On Monday, June 28th, or when 70% of the state’s adult population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, masks will no longer be required.
Philadelphia will continue to act independently from state regulations. The city repealed its outdoor mask mandate last Friday, but is still requiring masks indoors. Philadelphia’s new Health Commissioner, Dr. Cheryl Bettigole, says the city will review COVID-19 numbers and could roll back the mandate on June 11th. That is the date set for indoor events to go back to full capacity.
Things continue to look better and better in regards to being maskless at a Philadelphia 76ers playoff game. Just watch out for the flying popcorn. In all seriousness, as the data continues to trend in the right direction, we’re looking at a wide-open summer, which is something that everyone should be celebrating. It’s been a miserable year and a half. We deserve maskless playoff basketball and baseball games.
