Phillies make 6 roster moves before tonight’s game against the Atlanta Braves

The Philadelphia Phillies just announced a bunch of roster moves ahead of tonight’s game against the Atlanta Braves. Chase Anderson and David Hale have both been reinstated from the COVID-Related IL. As we know, Nick Maton was optioned to Lehigh Valley on Sunday.
Cristopher Sanchez was optioned to Lehigh Valley after pitching during the “net game” on Sunday. Brandon Kintzler is on his way to the 10-Day IL (retro 6/7) with a neck strain.
The most exciting news is Luke Williams. The Phillies have selected his contract from Lehigh Valley. Williams is coming off a stint with Team USA where he starred in four Olympic Qualifying games. Luke Williams was 8-for-16 with a double, a triple, a home run, six runs scored and six RBIs over the four game qualifier for Team USA. The Phillies third round draft pick in the 2015 draft was off to a hot start in Lehigh Valley this season. The 24 year old Williams slashed .352/.439/.465 with a .904 OPS. He had 25 hits, four doubles, and two triples with 8 RBI in 71 at-bats for the IronPigs.
The Phillies enter tonight with a very important three game home series against their NL East rivals in the Atlanta Braves. Aaron Nola, Zach Eflin, and Zack Wheeler are all set to pitch against the Braves.
The Phillies are currently 28-30 and a half game behind the Braves in second place. They are four games behind the NL East leading New York Mets.
