Didi Gregorius will begin his rehab assignment tonight with Triple-A Lehigh Valley

The Philadelphia Phillies continue get healthier. Didi Gregorius will begin his rehab assignment tonight with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Gregorius has been out of the Phillies lineup since May 13th, as he continues to heal a lingering bone bruise on his right elbow.
Gregorius singed a two-year contract with the Phillies over the offseason. This year, he’s slashing .229/.266/.340 with a .630 OPS. He has 27 hits, four home runs, and 22 RBI in 118 plate appearances on the season.
There’s no word on how many games Didi Gregorius will need before returning to the major league level. The Phillies open a two game series against the New York Yankees this weekend. It’s probably unlikely that we will see Didi return to the Phillies before then. The Phillies will hit the road on Monday for a West Coast trip and I would count on Gregorius traveling with the Phillies then.
The Phillies are 28-31 on the year, a game and a half behind the Braves and four games out of first place behind the New York Mets. The bullpen let one slip away last night in the eighth inning against the Braves. The Phillies are currently tied 0-0 against the Braves in the top of the 4th inning.
JT Realmuto and Bryce Harper both recently returned from injury. Getting Didi Gregorius back will only help the Phillies moving forward. My suggestion: Ditch the home run hat, get a healthy lineup, and start winning ball games.
