Didi Gregorius Injury Update: Not Good for the Phillies

The Phillies are red hot right now. They have won four straight games and just finished a sweep of the New York Yankees with a 7-0 win earlier today. They hoped that they would be traveling out West with a healthy lineup for the first time since May 12th, but that has now been delayed.
Didi Gregorius was in the midst of completing a rehab assignment with Triple A Lehigh Valley. He experienced a setback in his recovery from a bone bruise in his right elbow. Up until the setback, Gregorius had three hits, including a home run, during his rehab assignment. However, he has not played since last Thursday.
The Phillies will continue to use Ronald Torreyes and Luke Williams at shortstop until Gregorius is healthy enough to return to play.
The best baseball of the season for the Phillies could not come at a better time. They are now 7-2 in June. At the end of May, we talked about how June would be an extremely important month for the Phillies. The team just finished a 6-2 home stand and will now head to the West Coast to face the Dodgers and the Giants.
Spencer Howard will be on the mound tomorrow night in Los Angeles against Dodgers pitcher Tony Gonsolin. The Phillies are 11-19 on the road and currently are +157 to win tomorrow night against the Dodgers. Spencer Howard will be responsible for keeping things moving as the Phillies go for five straight wins.
Get well soon, Didi.
