Phillies mix up rotation, will send Zach Eflin to the mound in series finale today against the Giants

The Philadelphia Phillies will have three days off between June 17th and June 24th. As we speculated earlier on this month about how the Phillies will use their starting rotation during the month of June, we finally have some answers. Spencer Howard was scheduled to start today in the series finale against the San Francisco Giants, but will now be skipped in favor of Zach Eflin.
The Phillies have Monday off, and now will send Zack Wheeler to the mound on Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park and Vincent Velasquez to the mound on Wednesday.
From there, the Phillies will have another day off on Thursday and then play a doubleheader at Citi Field on Friday. The Phillies will have four games against the Mets and now can opt to send Zach Eflin back to the mound on regular rest if they do not want to turn to Spencer Howard against the NL East leading New York Mets.
The Phillies will have to travel to Cincinnati for a make up game after the Mets series and then play 18 games in 17 days starting on June 25th until the All-Star Game.
Led Zeflin on the mound today. Grab a t-shirt, rock out, and let’s get a win.
