How likely is a Ben Simmons Trade This Offseason?

In a matter of months, the city of Philadelphia could be losing another star athlete. In what can only be described as bizarre, Ben Simmons has become a worldwide headline after hitting rock bottom following a miserable series second round series against the Atlanta Hawks. Philadelphia just parted ways with Carson Wentz earlier this year, and now, Ben Simmons could be next on the Philly sports chopping block.
After this year’s playoffs, Ben Simmons now has the worst free throw percentage in the history of the NBA playoffs. As we all know, it got so bad, that the Simmons was scared to dunk the ball at a crucial point in Game 7. I wish I could tell you how we got here, but I don’t think anyone within city limits thought we were going to lose to the Atlanta Hawks.
Ben Simmons can still be saved. I honestly believe that. Reports today confirm that that the 76ers believe that as well. But with Daryl Morey at the helm, if the right opportunity comes about this offseason and the Sixers can get a star player in return for Simmons, there’s a chance that he could be gone.
We have been on record saying that this could be the final wakeup call that unleashes Ben Simmons. Looking at his game, the most glaring issue is obviously his shooting. He is still the best defender in the NBA as well as one of the best facilitators on planet earth. Simmons’ defense has progressed tremendously since joining the NBA. There’s no reason to believe that his offense can’t do the same.
The Liberty Line likes to give you both sides of the situation. This viewpoint may differ from others you’ve read but hey, we are not here to just push the same, one-sided narrative down your throat.
