Dwight Howard spotted in Atlanta, Sixers fans react irrationally

Last night was Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals in Atlanta. The Hawks split the first two games with the Bucks and were looking to take a lead at home. They did not. The Bucks won 113-102 behind a 38 point performance from Khris Middleton to take a 2-1 series lead.
During the game, a picture of Dwight Howard sitting court side was floating around online. Of course, the internet, more specifically Sixers fans, acted irrationally. I posted the picture from The Liberty Line Twitter account, simply with the Sixers’ certified hashtag and a “surprised” emoji face. The picture is hilarious, because of Trae Young’s face and the surprise of seeing Dwight Howard.

I do not care of Dwight Howard was at the Hawks game. Why would I? Dwight Howard is from Atlanta. It’s the Sixers offseason. He can honestly do whatever he wants and I wouldn’t care in the slightest. Hell, if he wanted to put on a Trae Young jersey, by all means, enjoy yourself Dwight.
The response to the picture being posted however, ranged from your typical “No, Dwight Howard is from Philly, why do you guys care” to “You idiots, Dwight Howard is from Atlanta”, and of course “Dwight Howard attending an Atlanta game means he doesn’t want to come back to Philly.”
Although the first two are true, the fact that they were posted as “gotcha” replies to the Tweet, when literally all we did was post the picture, is just weird, although expected. That’s what social media is these days. The other replies about Dwight Howard and the Sixers are even more bizarre.
97.5 host Tyrone Johnson said the following:
It is a very slow news day, which is why I’m writing this article. The content machine never sleeps. However, for Tyrone Johnson to go nuclear like this on Dwight Howard doesn’t make any sense. Fellow TLL guy James Birrane summed it up perfectly, so I’ll just let him take it from here.
Yep. Slow news day. Do you, Dwight. Thanks for the entertainment last season.
