Eagles finally remove banner of Carson Wentz from Lincoln Financial Field

After several months of outrage, the Philadelphia Eagles finally took down the banner out front of Lincoln Financial Field that featured former quarterback Carson Wentz. For whatever reason, the Eagles organization continued to hang a banner prominently that featured a quarterback traded over four months ago.

Following the removal, itโ€™s almost certain another will go up in its place. There have been several in the franchiseโ€™s tenure at the Linc, and here at The Liberty Line, we have a few suggestions of who should go up in Carsonโ€™s place.

GO BIRDS KID:

The city of Philadelphia rallied behind this kid after defeating the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship in 2017. Nobody knows where he is nowadays, but he deserves to be immortalized.

VARSITY TAILGATER:

When the Eagles were extremely thin on healthy players back in 2019, one loyal fan offered to suit up for the Birds if needed. His resume included two years of varsity football while also being in the best shape of his life.

JALEN HURTS TONGUE PICTURE

What better way to reassure Jalen Hurts that he is the future of the franchise than by replacing the giant photo of Carson Wentz with this photo.

EAGLES OFFENSIVE LINE NAKED PHOTOSHOOT

This banner is if you wanted to go an artistic route this upcoming season. Jason Kelce and company are the heart and soul of the Eaglesโ€™ franchise, and what better way to exemplify that statement than through this beautiful photo.

DANCING GRANDMA

Not the most popular of the three tailgaters, but dancing grandma is arguably the coolest by a landslide. She very likely is a longtime Eagles fan, and it makes perfect sense to thank her for her years of service by displaying her for all of Philadelphia to see.

Whichever way the Eagles go amongst these five options is a win for the city of Philadelphia. Until then, Iโ€™m curious what happens to the former banner of Carson Wentz. Do they throw it out? Does it go into storage? Maybe we send it to Indy and the Colts can hang it after editing the jersey. Stay tuned.
