76ers hire former Rockets CEO to take over for Scott O’Neil

The 76ers have tapped Tad Brown to be their next CEO, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. Brown was the CEO of the Houston Rockets for 15 seasons before stepping down a few months ago. Brown takes over for longtime 76ers CEO Scott O’Neil, who resigned just over a week ago.
This hiring will reunite Brown with Sixers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey, the two worked together in Houston since Morey joined the Rockets in 2007. Alongside the 76ers, Brown will oversee business operations for the New Jersey Devils, according to Wojnarowski.
Philadelphia has undergone a massive transformation in its front office over the last year on both the business and basketball sides of things. After the departure of O’Neil, everyone who was a significant member from the Hinkie and Colangelo eras is no longer part of the franchise.
