Matisse Thybulle puts on a defensive clinic for Australia ahead of scrimmage against USA

While many fans were focused on the United States being upset by Nigeria on Saturday night, 76ers’ Matisse Thybulle put on a defensive clinic for Australia. The Boomers had their own scrimmage against Argentina on Saturday, and Thybulle stole the show during their 87-84 win.
In just 23 minutes of play, Matisse had 15 points with four steals and three blocks for Australia while coming off the bench. After that performance, Matisse will likely be seeing the court a lot more going forward. Thybulle’s 15 was just under the Joe Ingles’ 16 and Patty Mills’ 17 point performances. On the defensive end, Matisse was incredible.
Luckily, 76ers fans will have a chance to watch Matisse Thybulle play against the US this afternoon in Las Vegas for another scrimmage. Australia is one of the best teams in the 2021 Olympics, rostering other Australians like Ingles, Aron Baynes, and Matthew Dellavedova. Ben Simmons was supposed to join the team but opted out to work out on his own this summer.
