Kumar Rocker, son of Eagles coach goes 10th in 2021 MLB Draft

The Philadelphia Phillies weren’t the only Philly team involved during last night’s MLB Draft. The New York Mets selected a pitcher named Kumar Rocker with the 10th pick from Vanderbilt. If that name sounds familiar to you, that’s because Kumar is the son of the Eagles defensive line coach, Tracy Rocker.
“I’m more of a dad. I know everyone’s all excited about that. I’m more of a dad. That’s what he does, and I’m proud of him, and I’m supportive of him. I’m just trying to be a dang good dad and guide him in the right way. … I kind of keep it out of my world because it’s totally two different sports, and they’re very difficult to play.”
Tracy was hired this offseason to join Nick Sirianni’s staff after spending the 2020 season with the South Carolina Gamecocks. The athletic genes are strong in the Rocker household. Tracy played in the NFL for two seasons while Kumar was one of the most dominant pitchers in college baseball during his time at Vanderbilt. At one point, he was highly expected to be the first overall pick. Meanwhile, for Tracy, he is currently preparing for Eagles training camp, which kicks off on July 27th.
