Seattle Kraken shock Flyers, select Carsen Twarynski during Expansion Draft

After weeks of speculation about who the Seattle Kraken would select, none of Jakub Voracek, Shayne Gostisbehere, or James van Riemsdyk will be on the move. According to Frank Seravalli, Seattle will be taking forward Carsen Twarynski from Philadelphia.
Carsen is a 23-year-old forward who has been with the Flyers since 2016 and has only played 22 games with the club. Almost nobody expected this selection, and with the caliber of the other available players in Philly, it makes little sense.
Seattle had their picks officially submitted at 10:00 this morning, and several of the top-caliber players across the league that were available will not be going to the Kraken. Carsen Twarynski will have a familiar face in Seattle, with their head coach being former Flyers coach Dave Hakstol. Now Philadelphia can breathe a sigh of relief tonight and not have to lose any core pieces of their roster this upcoming season.
