Seranthony Dominguez hopeful to begin rehab assignment next week

The Phillies could be getting some much-needed help in the bullpen in the near future. Earlier today, Todd Zolecki reported that Seranthony Dominguez is hopeful to begin a rehab assignment next week and return to the Phillies around late August. Dominguez has been battling injuries since 2019 when he hurt his UCL and re-aggravated it during spring training in 2020, which required Tommy John surgery last July.
Currently, his fastball velocity is around 93-94, which is a good sign Seranthony Dominguez will return to full speed once he is at full health. The Phillies’ bullpen has struggled immensely this season. Philadelphia has been linked to some closers like Craig Kimbrel, with the trade deadline in the coming days.
The Phillies will be back in action against the Washington Nationals tonight in their final series before the trade deadline. Spencer Howard will be on the mound.
