Flyers ink Keith Yandle to a 1 year, $900k NTC deal

This morning the Flyers were busy once again, signing veteran free agent defenseman Keith Yandle to a one year, $900k deal that has a no trade clause.
Keith Yandle is entering his 16th season in the NHL and has always been known as a puck-moving offensive defenseman. Last year he posted 3 goals, 24 assists, for a total of 27 points in 56 games. Yandle has also played under Alain Vigneault during his days with the Rangers so undoubtedly AV had some input on this and wanted his guy.
The no-trade clause that is built into the deal is probably the reason it is so team friendly, with minimal term and small cap hit. Truly the definition of a low risk high reward veteran signing.
Keith Yandle is mostly known for his locker room presence and being a hilarious individual. Much like Kevin Hayes he is from Boston and is going to fit in with our leadership group quite well I imagine. I’m actually looking forward to the content the Flyers social teams can provide with him, he’s been on Spittin Chiclets multiple times but this episode with Kevin Hayes is fantastic:
In summary, this is the Flyers just adding another veteran piece to come in and assist the young defenseman we have and it feels like a win right now. Yandle holds a 922-game Ironman streak, the highest in the NHL and a number this otherwordly impressive.
Is Chuck done yet?
