Andre Drummond says there’s no beef between him and Joel Embiid

When Adrian Wojnarowski first reported that the 76ers would be bringing in Andre Drummond, fans were shocked due to Joel and Drummond’s very public feud. During their several matchups, the two would constantly be chirping with the trash talk continuing onto social media after the game. Although there was worry, it looks as though the two are on good terms now.
When talking in his introductory Zoom press conference, Drummond had this to say regarding his rivalry with Embiid.
“I think for me, there was never any real beef. At the end of the day, it’s the game of basketball; it’s a heated game on both ends of the floor. We’re competitors and the way we play sometimes we talk. I don’t think it ever goes any further than that. I don’t think there’s any real beef or any malice towards one another. It’s part of the game, and we’re on the same team now, so it’s nothing I’m really thinking about, nothing that’s really bothering me.”
The two talked briefly when Andre Drummond arrived in Philadelphia yesterday, and it looked as though all was well between the two big men. Drummond will have a significant role in Philadelphia this season, filling in for Dwight Howard, who went back to the Lakers a few days ago.
One of the positive takeaways from the 76ers 2020/2021 season was their incredible chemistry amongst one another. So with that in mind it’s safe to say that Daryl Morey wouldn’t have brought in Andre Drummond if he wasn’t confident that he and Embiid would get along.
