Kendrick Perkins: Ben Simmons Wants Out of Philly, May Sit Out Training Camp

With just under an hour until 76ers summer league ball kicks off, Kendrick Perkins decided to stir the pot further in regards to the Ben Simmons trade saga. Perkins said on The Jump pre-game broadcast that Ben Simmons wants out of Philadelphia so bad, he may even sit out training camp to force a trade away from the organization.
The Ben Simmons trade talks have certainly had their ups and downs over the last couple months. It has become clear that Daryl Morey and the Sixers have been shopping the 3x All-Star, with a high asking price of multiple first round picks and young players. The Sixers and Simmons reportedly both welcomed the idea of a trade. Then, reports surfaced suggesting Simmons has broken off all contact with anyone inside the Sixers. All of this coming out while Ben stays true to his off-season agenda posting pictures and videos of him getting shots up in the gym.
While I am not sure how much weight I put into Kendrick Perkins’ insider reports, this doesn’t make things any easier. If true or not, this will certainly set Sixer twitter ablaze again, and may even push more leverage towards Ben Simmons in a potential destination. As of now the Sixers still hold a high asking price for Simmons, and we won’t know whether Perkins was right until Simmons is dealt or the start of training camp next month.
