Phillies roster moves and lineup ahead of tonight’s game against Los Angeles

The Philadelphia Phillies suffered a brutal blow to their starting lineup earlier today after Rhys Hoskins was placed on the 10-day IL for his groin injury, which was announced as retroactive to the 7th. Philadelphia hoped he could avoid the injured list and return as quickly as tomorrow but that no longer seems to be the case.Â
Hoskins has been killing as of late, slashing .327/.450/.714 with 16 hits, four home runs, and 13 RBI over his last 15 games. Filling his roster spot, the Phillies have called back up Mickey Moniak, who continues to move back and forth between Lehigh and the majors.
Mickey Moniak had an incredible month of July as well in the minor leagues. He had an 11-game hitting streak and had hits in 17 of his last 19 games in July. Moniak’s 1.039 OPS included 15 extra-base hits and 19 RBIs. Over his last 33 games, Moniak has 21 extra-base hits and 29 RBIs. Moniak recently notched a double, triple, a walk, and a sac fly in Lehigh Valley’s 9-7 loss to Buffalo.
Phillies starting lineup:
Brad Miller will start at first tonight in place of Hoskins against the star-studded Dodgers. Andrew McCutchen is still out but could return soon. Meabwhile, Odubel Herrera is in left field while Jankowski is in center field for tonight’s game. Aaron Nola is on the mound with the first pitch at 7:05 (weather permitting).
