Eagles News: injury update on WR DeVonta Smith

New Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith was sidelined with an MCL sprain back on August 2nd. He was expected to miss 2-3 weeks with the injury and appears to be progressing in the right direction.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni addressed the media ahead of Saturday’s practice and stated that Smith has been upgraded to ‘day-to-day’ as he works his way back to the field:
Sirianni said DeVonta is now day-day with knee injury. Doesn’t know if he’ll play Thurs, but obviously a good sign. #Eagles

Smith’s status for Thursday’s preseason game v. New England remains uncertain, but it’s an encouraging sign nonetheless. The #10 overall pick also participated with his teammates and wore a helmet for the first time since his injury.
