Jason Peters signs 1-year deal with NFC North team

Jason Peters finally has a new home. According to Jeremy Fowler, after 12 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, Peters will be signing with the Chicago Bears. Peters has been adamant about wanting to continue his NFL career, but it was clear his time was up in Philadelphia after this past season.
Chicago has had some injuries on the o-line throughout camp, and Peters is likely to be a solid boost to the Bears’ depth chart. At 39-years-old, this will be Jason Peters’ 18th season in the NFL and his first on a different team since 2008. During his time with the Eagles, he was named to seven Pro Bowls and two All-Pro teams and was a starter on the 2017 Super Bowl team.
During his final season with the Philadelphia Eagles, The Bodyguard was brought back to play right guard but was needed to move back out to tackle but he held out for a pay raise to change positions. After a few abysmal showings and landing on IR to end the season, Peters then moved to the bench while Jordan Mailata took over at left tackle.
Having Mailata and Andre Dillard at left tackle and several young guys providing depth at guard, Jason Peters no longer had a role with the team. Jason’s time in Philadelphia will always be remembered, and he will go down as arguably one of the best tackles in Philadelphia history.
