Rhys Hoskins Out For Season

Rhys Hoskins done for the year, Eflin scratched after warm up injury

The Philadelphia Phillies just got swept in a two game series against the Tampa Bay Rays. They are back to .500 on season with a 63-63 record. They are currently five games back of the National League East leading Atlanta Braves with just over a month of baseball left to be played in the 2021 MLB season. Tonight, they will open up a four game series against the worst team in the National League in the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Earlier, We got word via Twitter about a slew of Roster Moves that included Zach Eflin returning and Rhys Hoskins heading to the 10-Day Injured List.

Hoskins appeared in two games with the Phillies since returning to the lineup. He hit two home runs against the Padres and another home run last night against the Tampa Bay Rays. As we all know, losing him screws everything up for the Phillies lineup. The lack of power and protection in the middle of the order without Hoskins has proven to throw things off for a very inconsistent Phillies lineup.

Here’s the update: Rhys Hoskins is now speaking with the media and says that he is done for the season.

To make things worse: Zach Eflin tweaked his injury and is now scratched from tonight’s lineup. Matt Moore will pitch in his place.

Pardon my french, but the Phillies are fucked. There is no god. There is no hope. Just pain and darkness yet again. 10 years. A decade of false hope and optimism. I feel bad for the Gen Z kids who have yet to witness Phillies baseball at it’s peak. This is a crushing loss and quite honestly, I don’t know if I’ll recover.

Not good. Not good at all.
