76ers open roster spot, waive forward Anthony Tolliver

The 76ers now have one more roster spot ahead of training camp, waiving forward Anthony Tolliver today, according to Shams Charnia. Tolliver was brought in ahead of the 76ers’ playoff push but did not provide much for the team and barely saw the court.Â
During his 11 games with the 76ers, Anthony Tolliver averaged just 1.5 PPG while shooting 23% from the floor. Today was the last day for the Sixers to waive Tolliver before his contract was guaranteed for next season. Following this move, the Sixers have one roster spot to fill with several interesting names still on the market.Â
There’s a chance the Sixers keep the roster spot open so they can bring in several players if they were to trade Ben Simmons ahead of training camp. It’s unlikely that Tolliver is picked up by another NBA roster but provides a veteran presence to a team as a depth piece.
