Phillies Roster Moves: Rhys Hoskins Hits the 60 Day IL, Seranthony Dominguez Update, and More

The Phillies were scheduled to play game three of their series vs. the Washington Nationals tonight. Due to inclement weather, the game has been moved to tomorrow at 1:05. Ahead of Thursday’s game, the Phillies made multiple roster moves, including a heartbreaking one.
The Phillies have called up Ramon Rosso and Cam Bedrosian, as their contracts were selected from AAA Lehigh Valley. They are both minor league pitchers, who probably won’t see many innings with the team. But hey, with the injuries that have been floating around throughout the pitching staff, you never know.

Heartbreaking. We knew it was coming, but it still hurts. Rhys Hoskins has been transferred to the 60-day IL, after officially throwing in the flag just last week. His groin injury was lingering, and unfortunately, there was nothing Rhys could do. Hoskins was one of the backbones of the offense this year, slashing .247/.334/.864 on the year, with 27 HRs, 71 RBIs, and 96 hits.
Didi Gregorious has been moved off of the paternity list, onto the restricted list. No reasoning has been released yet, but it could be due to the inclement weather, preventing travel. Didi should be back with the team in no time.
Seranthony Dominguez has been reinstated from the 60-day IL and optioned to AAA. The rollercoaster of Seranthony Dominguez has been nothing short of stressful. Countless injuries, opportunities, and more. Dominguez should get some big innings down in AAA over the next week or so, and come playoff time, could be back with the team in the big leagues.
5 straight wins and 2.5 games back in the NL East race. The time is now, and the Phillies need to keep taking advantage of it. They’ll close out their three-game series with the Nationals tomorrow, with Aaron Nola on the hill.
