White Out Weekly: The First Big Whiteout Preview | #22 Auburn vs #10 Penn State

It was a relatively stress free Saturday for Penn State fans, as they took care of business against the defending MAC champions 44-13. The Nittany Lions opened the game with a stellar 13 play, 78 yard touchdown drive capped off by a Noah Cain touchdown run. The momentum built from the 2nd half in Madison seemed to carry into this game, which is all you really could have asked for in a game against a much inferior opponent. Sean Clifford continued his “turnover-less” 2021 campaign throwing for 230 yards with a 72 percent completion percentage. The offensive line seemed to have progressed allowing the running game to “somewhat” get going, and the LG position battle appears to be solidified as Harvard transfer Eric Wilson got the nod and remained in the game until late in 4th quarter.
Penn State is off to a 2-0 start, winning both games two different ways….the first being a defensive bout on the road against a top 15 team, the second being a game that was never in doubt and keeping their foot on the pedal the entire contest. With that being said, all eyes turn to the biggest stage Happy Valley can offer….a primetime WhiteOut against a Top 25 SEC opponent. The Alabama Crimson Tide were the last SEC opponent to make the journey to Beaver Stadium, taking care of business back in 2011 with Trent Richardson and co. by a score of 27-11. These Auburn Tigers are no Crimson Tide, but they are still a very talented, very strong and fast SEC West foe who are also coming in after tallying wins in their first two contests.
Auburn comes into the game with a brand new coaching staff with first year HC Bryan Harsin (spent last season as Boise State HC), first year OC Mike Bobo (former Colorado St HC) and first year DC Derek Mason (former Vanderbilt HC). Penn State opened as a touchdown and extra point favorite, a line which has since shifted to the lions by just a touchdown. This is a game that obviously has the national spotlight, but also one that will be a HUGE momentum boost for whoever comes out on top. Never underestimate the power of 107K plus, creating an avalanche of sound, looking to impose their will on a certain quarterback (Bo Nix) who struggles mightily on the road.
On this week’s episode, we cover how the Nittany Lions were able to handle the Ball State Cardinals, along with our “One Name All Game”. We then dive right into the Auburn Tigers, covering all things from Bo Nix and Tang Bigsby to their NASTY front seven. With the score knotted at 1, Big Ten Betting Bonanza enters Week 3 as we provide you with our B1G locks of the week, including a White Out Weekly first. Oh, and I almost forgot…..Ohio State, we’re so sorry for your loss.
