Eagles Thursday Injury Report Ahead of Sunday’s Matchup with the San Francisco 49ers

After a hot start in Atlanta last week, the Philadelphia Eagles are back home at Lincoln Financial Field this upcoming Sunday for their home opener against the 49ers. The team released their daily injury report after Thursday’s practice, and although the list seems long at first glance, there is nothing we should be too worried about.
Nine eagles on this list were full participants in today’s practice, including starting linemen Lane Johnson and Jason Kelce, starting running back Miles Sanders, and cornerback Darius Slay. Most of the full participants were previous rest days, with precautionary measures being taken after the first game of the season.
JJ Arcega-Whiteside (ankle), Brandon Brooks (knee/rest), Marcus Epps (concussion), Zach Ertz (hamstring/rest), Avonte Maddox (groin), and Rodney McLeod (knee), were all limited in Thursday’s practice. McLeod, who is now limited, will hope to make his debut of the 2021-2022 season this Sunday. Additionally, Landon Dickerson is now off the injured list, after battling a knee injury over the past weeks. Although we won’t see him out as a starter, he will be ready to go in case of an emergency.
The first game back is always a tough one, with players not being used to game action and just getting the rust off after a long offseason. All signs point to most, if not all, of these players playing on Sunday in the team’s second game of the season. The NFC East-leading Philadelphia Eagles welcome the 49ers to town on Sunday at 1:00 EST, with Jalen Hurts and the rest of the Eagles team looking to ride their momentum to a 2-0 record. Go Birds.
