Hans Crouse gets the nod for the Phillies today against the Pirates

The Philadelphia Phillies have won five straight games. They are 8-2 over their last 10 games and are currently 1.5 games back from the NL East leading Atlanta Braves. Today, they will wrap up a four game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. 23-year old Hans Crouse will get the nod for the Phillies as they look to complete the sweep against the Pirates in their last regular season home game at Citizens Bank Park.
Crouse joined the Phillies from the Rangers with Kyle Gibson in the trade for Spencer Howard at the MLB trade deadline. In the minor leagues this year, he is 5-4 with a 3.28 ERA in 20 starts (85 IP). Crouse had his contract selected from Lehigh Valley as the Phillies DFA’d outfielder Matt Joyce.
First pitch is today at 1:05pm. The Phillies will have the day off tomorrow before the showdown in Atlanta starts on Tuesday.
