Morgan Frost, Tyson Foerster among the Flyers final 10 Training Camp Cuts

Today the Philadelphia Flyers announced they are cutting 10 players from the training camp roster, formulating their roster for the regular season. Among these cuts is forward Morgan Frost, whose demotion comes at a bit of a surprise.

The following five (5) players have been assigned to the club’s AHL affiliaye, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms: Morgan Frost (C), Tyson Foerster (RW), Linus Sandin (RW), Isaac Ratcliffe (LW), Linus Hogberg (D)

The following four (4) players have been placed on waivers for the purposes of being assigned to Lehigh Valley: Adam Clendening (D), Gerry Mayhew (C), German Rubtsov (C), Connor Bunnaman (C)

The following has been released from his professional tryout and will report to Lehigh Valley: Cal O’Reilly (C)

The only roster cut that was unexpected here was Morgan Frost, who must people assumed had a roster spot especially after the injury to Kevin Hayes. For now it appears that Jackson Cates has won the open center slot, and hopefully Vigneault and Fletcher will explain their thought process next time they speak to the media.

Tyson Foerster had himself a great camp and stuck around for a while, I have no doubt in my mind that he’s going to have himself a season in the AHL and maybe even earn a call-up down the line.

Adam Clendening was a player some people had penciled in for the 7th defenseman role after Sam Morin got injured, but with him being placed on waivers one can only assume Nick Seeler won that spot going into opening night.

The Flyers have now set their roster for the final preseason game on Friday (@WSH) which should be a dress rehearsal of the regular season lineup . With the roster set and the season only being a week away, it’s starting to get exciting.
