76ers travel to Detroit for final preseason matchup

Just one more left. Tonight, the Philadelphia 76ers will close out their preseason on the road against the Detroit Pistons. Philly will be without several of their key players, but there is a slight chance that Ben Simmons could make his return to the team tonight. Simmons didn’t fly with the team due to COVID protocols but is only listed as doubtful instead of out.
The inactive 76ers for tonight include Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, and Shake Milton, who have all been dealing with minor injuries over the last week. Meanwhile, Joel Embiid is expected to play but likely will only play a quarter or two based on his previous showings.
Unfortunately, Sixers fans will not be able to watch first overall pick Cade Cunningham tonight as he is listed as out. Cunningham is dealing with a sprained ankle and has yet to play a game for the Pistons this preseason. Alongside Cunningham, Killian Hayes, and former Villanova Wildcat, Saddiq Bey are listed as questionable.Â
Preseason standout Isaiah Joe should see significant time tonight as he is making a serious push to be part of the 76ers’ core rotation. After doing well at point guard on Monday, Furkan Korkmaz could get the nod there, but it will probably go to Tyrese Maxey.
After tonight, there will be just four days until the start of the 76ers’ season, facing the New Orleans Pelicans on the road. With Ben Simmons rejoining the lineup, it will be sure to be an exciting season ahead for Philadelphia.
