76ers exercise rookie options for Matisse Thybulle and Tyrese Maxey

Matisse Thybulle and Tyrese Maxey are here to stay. In unsurprising news, the 76ers picked up the team option’s on both Maxey and Thybulle’s rookie deals, keeping them in Philadelphia for another season. Thybulle had his fourth year picked up while Maxey had his third year claimed.
This upcoming season, Matisse Thybulle will make $4.3 million, nearly $1.5 million more than this season. Meanwhile, for Maxey, his third season is worth just $2.7, with his final year valued at $4.3 million as well. Matisse Thybulle is eligible for an extension this offseason, or he will be headed to restricted free agency after next season.
Every 76er is now locked into a contract for next season outside of backup center Andre Drummond. What the 76ers will pay Thybulle this offseason will be interesting to see. Unless Thybulle is moved for a star alongside Ben Simmons, it’s doubtful the defensive wing is going anywhere anytime soon.
