The Penn State Nittany Lions certainly did not show any signs of their foundation crumbling, as most may have expected after a heartbreaking loss in Kinnick, followed by what may be considered one of the most embarrassing losses in recent memory falling to a far inferior Illinois team in 9 OTs in front of the Beaver Stadium faithful.

In fact, the Nittany Lions played one of their best games in quite some time in Columbus as Sean Clifford looked a near 100% by extending plays, and throwing for 361 yards plus a score. However, another absent running game performance (29 carries, 33 yards) and some key turnovers (including a 57 yard scoop n’ score to close the 1st Half, along with a late 4Q INT to put the Buckeyes up 9) all but sealed the deal for a Penn State team looking to right the ship.

The attention now shifts to a familiar regional foe, as the Nittany Lions will travel down the PA turnpike and 95-South to College Park, MD to take on a 5-3 Terrapins team that has been living and dying by the hot & cold play of their prolific QB Taulia Tagovailoa (11th in the nation in yards, 16th in TDs, 31st in QBR).

While most would consider any B1G road contest a tough test, the Nittany Lions have boded well in College Park, taking 14 of the last 15 contests, including a 59-0 shellacking in 2019 due to an electric performance from KJ Hamler, and a 66-3 drubbing in 2017 when Tommy Stevens and Saquon Barkley ran supreme and bowled over the Terps tallying 190 yards and 5 TDs.
