It’s time for Flyers Hockey; Lightning @ Flyers Preview

It’s time for some Flyers hockey in Philadelphia. The 8-3-3 Tampa Bay Lightning come into the city of brotherly love looking to continue their little 2-game winning streak. The Lightning are 3-0-2 in their last 5 games, and have a solid record of 4-1-1 on the road. You can catch the boys in action tonight at 7:00pm on NBCSP.
Carter Hart gets his second straight start tonight. Hart was extremely impressive in the Flyers’ 2-1 win against Calgary, making huge saves (33 of 34) throughout the contest. Hart currently possesses a 5-3-2 record and holds a 2.19 GAA and .935 SV%. He’s been a huge reason the Flyers have been able to come away with all these 2-1 wins (4 on the year already). He’s going to need to be very good to be able to leave tonight’s game with a win against a high-powered offense in Tampa.
Oskar Lindblom finds himself back in the line up tonight after AV used Tuesday’s game against Calgary as reset day for him. Lindblom has 1 point in 13 games so far this season, so hopefully the little reset can get him going in the right direction. Patrick Brown is currently week-to-week with a thumb injury, so he’ll be out of the line up for a little.
Ryan Ellis is going to be out 4-6 weeks according to AV. We got to see Ellis make his return to the Flyers lineup against the Dallas Stars on Saturday, and then we also got to see Ellis head to LTIR straight after. The good news, if there is any in all of this, is that no surgery is required. Ellis will just need to rehab it the next month or so and hopefully get back to playing hockey this season.
Jordan Hall tweeted had a tweet this morning saying AV said there is another player that is “iffy” for tonight. I don’t want to sit here and speculate on a players health, but that’s something to keep an eye on the closer we get to game-time.
Flyers’ Projected Lineup vs the Tampa Bay Lightning
Giroux – Couturier – Konecny
Farabee – Hayes – Atkinson
Laughton – Brassard – JVR
Lindblom – Thompson – MacEwen
Provorov – Braun
Sanheim – Ristolainen
Yandle – Seeler
Hart
Although the new power play unit looked good in the last game against Calgary, it’s still in complete shambles for the last couple weeks. 3 for their last 34, 1 for their last 18 in their last 5 games, it’s a complete mess right now. Like I just said, the chances were there last game against Calgary, Markstrom just stood on his head for a lot of the game. Hopefully they can continue to build on some of that momentum and actually start putting up some goals.
Cam Atkinson was on a 8-game goal less drought before his OT winner against the Flames, him getting on the board the other night was huge. He is known to be a streaky scorer so I’m looking for him to be very involved tonight. Joel Farabee is another player I’m looking at tonight. 1 point in his last 11 games, he needs to be doing more.
