Rumor: 76ers expected to pursue James Harden this offseason

Even though he isn’t moving at any point this season, Philadelphia continues to pursue Brooklyn Nets star, James Harden. Recently, Ian Begley of SNY discussed trade rumors circulating Harden, who only has one-year remaining on his contract. When talking about his status for this offseason, Begley included a team that has been persistent for several years.
“The Philadelphia Inquirer recently reported that the 76ers have Harden on their wish list of players they’re targeting in a Ben Simmons trade. Even before those reports, Nets people who would need to be aware of Harden’s future were well aware that Philadelphia loomed as a potential suitor for the guard, SNY sources say.”
James Harden has a player option for this offseason that he will decline to sign a supermax extension with the Nets. So far, there has been no inclination that either side wants to move on from the other, but Morey will still certainly offer a sign and trade of Ben Simmons.
Morey tried to acquire James Harden from Houston this past season, but the Rockets took the Nets deal instead and turned it into one of the worst returns for a superstar in league history. The 76ers have been struggling recently, but hopefully, they can turn it around on the road tomorrow against the Atlanta Hawks.
