Dallas Goedert discusses 0-yard showing against the Giants

Many fans were upset at the lack of, targets towards Dallas Goedert following the Eagles’ 13-7 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. Goedert was targeted three times but didn’t have any receiving yards. It certainly rubbed fans the wrong way after he and the Eagles agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension through 2025.
Following the loss, Sirianni explained that the Giants doubled Dallas Goedert heavily, which makes sense why he didn’t get any yards. While many tight ends would be upset by this performance, Goedert took it on the chin and was still proud of everything else he did.
“But I think I make a big impact in the game in more ways than just catching the ball. I think we ran for 200+. If we’re doing that, we should be winning a lot of games. But I’m going to do whatever I can to help the team win and my number wasn’t called in the passing game as much, so I did what I could in the run game.”
Dallas Goedert has been tremendous in the running game and has been a critical piece of their success on the ground this season. One of the key strengths the newly extended tight end had over his predecessor, Zach Ertz, was his blocking ability.
After a quiet showing, the Eagles should be looking at Dallas Goedert a lot more when they take on the New York Jets this Sunday in the Meadowlands once again.
