Nick Sirianni discuses QB controversy, Jalen Hurts’ status

To no surprise, no changes are coming for the Philadelphia Eagles at quarterback. After their 33-18 victory over the New York Jets, Nick Sirianni stuck by Jalen Hurts, reaffirming he’s the team’s starting quarterback. Gardner Minshew had a tremendous showing, and brought a lot of eyes to how talented he is, and showed the Eagles they have an elite backup.
Despite Sirianni’s comments, there will likely be a lot of conversation regarding Minshew’s status over the next two weeks after he completed 20 of his 25 passes today. Hurts has been dealing with a sore ankle which led to him missing today’s game.
Although Jalen Hurts should be good for their game against Washington in two weeks, Nick Sirianni wouldn’t put a timetable on Hurts’ return. However, he said he did expect the Eagles’ captain to be good to go.
