The proficiencies for Charlotte are exactly the struggles for Philadelphia. The Hornets rank 3rd in the NBA in pace, where the Sixers are 28th. On top of that, Charlotte is 4th in the league in three pointers made per game compared to the Sixers who are 23rd. Obviously, with the Hornets missing so many key players, their efficiency will go down but the style of play will likely remain the same.
Even without Maxey in this game, the Sixers are in a good position to pick up a few wins in this trip to Charlotte with the Hornets being short handed. To counteract Charlotte’s speed, Joel Embiid and the Sixers should look to dominate in the paint and work on their own offensive pace.
This is the first of two consecutive matchups between these two teams. They only faced off twice last season, with Philadelphia winning each of those games. The Hornets are currently 14-11, and stand as the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference, while Philadelphia is 12-11 looking to improve from the 9th seed.
