Charles Barkley reveals that he named his daughter after a mall in Delaware

Charles Barkley’s stories never get old. Recently, the Sixers legend discussed the interesting origin of his daughter’s name on his podcast, The Steam Room with Ernie Johnson. Barkley has one child, Christiana, who was born when he was with the 76ers back in 1989. Somehow during their podcast, Charles Barkley revealed how his daughter’s name came from a popular shopping destination in Delaware.
The Christiana Mall is located in Newark, Delaware, and is in the northern portion of the state. It is arguably the most Charles Barkley thing to name his daughter after a mall of all things. Ernie Johnson encapsulated all of our reactions when he heard, surprised but not, at the same time.
Malls across America are phasing out at an alarming rate. Maybe if more people started naming their kids after them, they stand a chance at a revival, but I highly doubt it. I’m curious if Barkley had a son if he’d name them Franklin or Prussia. Another daughter could be named Concord or Cherry
Just spitballing ideas incase Charles makes a mistake and has another kid at the ripe age of 58, but I doubt Chuck still has it in him. There’s your hump day news. Get it? HA.
