The Flyers are completely unwatchable amidst ten-game losing streak

The Flyers got shutout 3-0 by the New Jersey Devils in yet another lifeless game. They were outclassed in all three zones of play and suffered another loss bringing the streak to 10. Carter Hart got the start for the Flyers and MacKenzie Blackwood for the Devils. Derick Brassard made his return to the lineup and started the game on the fourth line.
The game opened up with both teams easing in and playing a defensive game. New Jersey has also been struggling of late and the game seemed there for the taking. Much like the theme of their other games, the Flyers did not want to win this one.
Philadelphia wilts away at the first sign of adversity. This team severely lacks any pride or heart for their performances and it’s clear in the atrocious product they lay before your television every other night. Admittedly all season I’ve been screaming “they’re not this bad!” and well… maybe they are.
Either that or they have just completely given up the fight. You’re in the national media for all the wrong reasons, fired your coach, lost nine (now ten) straight and you muster up 14 shots in two periods? Against the struggling New Jersey Devils?
The Philadelphia Flyers have spent to the cap ceiling and are still completely unwatchable, the worst spot to be in the NHL. Even Vancouver got a shutout win in response to their coach getting fired. Something has to give here.
Players like Couturier, Konecny, Lindblom, JVR, Provorov, Yandle and more all have to step up their play. Sadly it seems like if they do it might be too late. I don’t care if they’ve been better of late those players need to bring a win to the table. I can’t believe the powerplay still can’t manage to enter the zone.
It’s incredibly easy to shutout this team, just get the first goal and you have a decent chance. Make the game 2-0 and it’s almost money in the bank. I’ve never seen a team that can be written off so easily with no signs of desperation. It’s a sad shell of the 19-20 team that caught lightning in a bottle.
The Flyers’ organization needs some kind of clear direction. How many more games of this can everybody take? You already fired the coach, it could be time to drop a player move bomb shortly. This current group is painfully boring and lack the will to dig themselves out of the hole they dug.
14 shots through 2 periods. This rebuild is going to be fantastic.
